Journal Description

Industrial Journal of Industrial Engineering and Innovation (IJIEI) is a peer-reviewed scientific journal published by the Universitas Muhammadiyah Banten.
The journal focuses on disseminating high-quality scholarly works in the fields of industrial engineering, industrial systems, and technological innovation that contribute to scientific development and practical problem-solving in industrial and organizational contexts.

IJIEI serves as an academic platform for academics, researchers, practitioners, and students to publish empirical research, conceptual studies, and applied research that support the advancement of industrial engineering theory and its implementation in manufacturing and service industries at national and international levels.

 

Focus and Scope

IJIEI publishes original research articles and scholarly works in the field of industrial engineering and innovation. The scope of the journal includes, but is not limited to, the following areas:

·        Manufacturing systems and industrial process design

·        Operations management, logistics, and supply chain management

·        Optimization methods and industrial decision support systems

·        Ergonomics and human factors engineering

·        Quality engineering, reliability engineering, and risk management

·        Industrial sustainability, green manufacturing, and circular economy

·        Technological innovation and digital transformation in industrial systems

·        Applications of data science, artificial intelligence, and big data analytics in industrial engineering

The journal prioritizes manuscripts that demonstrate methodological rigor, practical relevance, and innovation applicable to real industrial challenges.

 

Peer Review Process

All manuscripts submitted to IJIEI undergo a double-blind peer review process.
Each submission is reviewed by at least two independent reviewers with relevant expertise in industrial engineering or related disciplines.

Editorial decisions are based on reviewers’ assessments of originality, relevance, methodological quality, clarity, ethical compliance, and contribution to industrial engineering knowledge and practice.

The final decision rests with the Editor-in-Chief.
The peer review process is conducted objectively, transparently, and confidentially.

Publication Frequency

IJIEI is published twice a year, in June and December.

 

Open Access Policy

IJIEI is an open access journal, providing immediate and free access to all published articles.
Readers are permitted to read, download, copy, distribute, and use the content for lawful purposes without financial, legal, or technical barriers, in accordance with open access publishing principles.

 

Publication Ethics

IJIEI is committed to upholding high standards of publication ethics and follows the guidelines of the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE).

Editors’ Responsibilities

Editors evaluate manuscripts based on academic merit and relevance to the journal’s scope, maintain confidentiality, manage conflicts of interest, and ensure a fair and rigorous peer review process.

Reviewers’ Responsibilities

Reviewers conduct objective, constructive, and confidential evaluations, disclose potential conflicts of interest, and identify ethical issues such as plagiarism or data fabrication.

Authors’ Responsibilities

Authors are responsible for the originality of their work, accuracy of data, ethical compliance, proper citation, and transparency in reporting research methods, funding sources, and potential conflicts of interest.

 

Author Guidelines

Manuscripts submitted to IJIEI must:

·        Be original and not under consideration by other journals

·        Be written in English or Indonesian

·        Follow the journal’s template and formatting guidelines

·        Clearly describe research methods, analysis, and industrial implications

·        Use APA referencing style, preferably managed using citation software

Online Submissions

All manuscripts must be submitted through the journal’s Online Journal System (OJS).
Authors are required to register and submit manuscripts electronically via the journal website.

 

Plagiarism Screening Policy

All manuscripts submitted to IJIEI are screened using plagiarism detection software as part of the editorial process.

The journal applies the following similarity standards:

·        Maximum similarity index: ≤ 20%

·        Similarity from a single source must not exceed 5%

·        References, quotations, and commonly used methodological phrases are excluded from similarity assessment

Manuscripts exceeding acceptable similarity levels will be rejected or returned to authors for revision, depending on the extent of overlap.

 

Policy on the Use of Generative Artificial Intelligence (GenAI)

IJIEI allows the limited and responsible use of Generative Artificial Intelligence (GenAI) tools for language editing and writing assistance under the following conditions:

  1. AI tools cannot be listed as authors.
  2. Authors remain fully responsible for the accuracy, originality, and ethical integrity of the manuscript.
  3. The use of GenAI must be transparently disclosed when relevant.
  4. GenAI must not be used to fabricate data, results, images, or references.

Violations of this policy will be treated as ethical misconduct and may result in manuscript rejection, retraction, or other corrective actions.

 

Author Fees

The journal applies the following author fee policy:

Submission Fee: IDR 0

Publication Fee: IDR 650,000 or USD -

This policy will be periodically reviewed and updated to align with advancements in AI technology and evolving standards of ethical scholarly publishing.

 

Archiving Policy

This journal ensures long-term digital preservation of its content through participation in institutional repositories. Integration with the PKP Preservation Network (PKP PN) is planned for future implementation.
