TechNova: Journal of Informatics and Information Systems (TJIIS) is a peer-reviewed scientific journal published by the Universitas Muhammadiyah Banten. The journal focuses on the dissemination of high-quality and original scholarly works in the fields of informatics, information systems, and digital technology, contributing to the advancement of science, innovation, and technology-based solutions at national and international levels.

TJIIS serves as an academic platform for researchers, academics, practitioners, and students to publish empirical research, conceptual studies, and technological innovations related to the design, development, implementation, and evaluation of information systems and computing technologies that address contemporary challenges in the digital era.

TechNova: Journal of Informatics and Information Systems (TJIIS) publishes original research articles and scholarly works within, but not limited to, the following areas:

  • Information systems analysis, design, and implementation

Peer Review Process

All manuscripts submitted to TechNova: Journal of Informatics and Information Systems (TJIIS) undergo a double-blind peer review process to ensure academic quality, originality, and scientific contribution. Each manuscript is reviewed by at least two independent reviewers with expertise relevant to the subject matter.

Editorial decisions are based on reviewers’ assessments of originality, relevance to the journal’s scope, methodological soundness, clarity of presentation, ethical compliance, and contribution to the field. The final publication decision is made by the Editor-in-Chief. The peer review process is conducted objectively, transparently, and confidentially.

 

Publication Frequency

TechNova: Journal of Informatics and Information Systems (TJIIS) is published biannually, with issues released in January and July.

 

Open Access Policy

TJIIS is an open access journal that provides immediate and unrestricted access to all published articles. Readers are permitted to read, download, copy, distribute, and use the published content for lawful purposes without financial, legal, or technical barriers, in accordance with the principles of open access publishing.

 

Publication Ethics

TJIIS is committed to upholding the highest standards of ethical scholarly publishing and adheres to the guidelines of the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE).

Editors’ Responsibilities

Editors evaluate manuscripts based on academic merit and relevance to the journal’s scope, ensure confidentiality, manage conflicts of interest, and maintain a fair and unbiased peer review process.

Reviewers’ Responsibilities

Reviewers are responsible for conducting objective, constructive, and confidential evaluations, disclosing any conflicts of interest, and identifying potential ethical concerns in submitted manuscripts.

Authors’ Responsibilities

Authors are responsible for the originality of their work, accuracy of data, proper citation of sources, ethical compliance, and transparency in reporting research methods, results, and funding sources.

 

Author Guidelines

Manuscripts submitted to TJIIS must:

  • Be original and not under consideration or published elsewhere
  • Be written in English or Indonesian
  • Follow the journal’s template and formatting guidelines
  • Clearly describe research objectives, methodology, results, and contributions
  • Use APA referencing style, preferably managed using citation software

Authors retain the copyright of their work and grant TechNova: Journal of Informatics and Information Systems (TJIIS) the right of first publication. All published articles are licensed under the Creative Commons Attribution License (CC BY 4.0).

 

Online Submissions

All manuscripts must be submitted through the journal’s Online Journal System (OJS). Authors are required to register and submit their manuscripts electronically via the journal website.

 

Plagiarism Screening Policy

All manuscripts submitted to TJIIS are screened using plagiarism detection software as part of the editorial process. The journal applies the following similarity standards:

  • Maximum similarity index: ≤ 20%
  • Similarity from a single source must not exceed 5%
  • References, quotations, and commonly used methodological phrases are excluded from the similarity assessment

Manuscripts exceeding the acceptable similarity threshold will be rejected or returned to authors for revision, depending on the nature and extent of the overlap.

 

Policy on the Use of Generative Artificial Intelligence (GenAI)

TJIIS allows the limited and responsible use of Generative Artificial Intelligence (GenAI) tools for language editing and writing assistance under the following conditions:

  1. AI tools must not be listed as authors.
  2. Authors remain fully responsible for the accuracy, originality, integrity, and ethical compliance of the manuscript.
  3. The use of GenAI tools must be transparently disclosed when relevant, including the name and purpose of the tool.
  4. GenAI must not be used to fabricate data, research results, images, or references, or to manipulate research findings.

Violations of this policy constitute ethical misconduct and may result in manuscript rejection, retraction, or other corrective actions in accordance with publication ethics.

 

Author Fees

TechNova: Journal of Informatics and Information Systems (TJIIS) applies the following author fee policy:

  • Submission Fee: IDR 0
  • Publication Fee: IDR 650,000 or USD 45

This policy will be periodically reviewed and updated to align with advancements in AI technology and evolving standards of ethical scholarly publishing.
